I would say the worst offenders for buffs are those with the trickle down effects, or those that cause a lot of analysis paralysis by providing too many new options. Obviously players should be rewarded for preparation, but this was "too much of a good thing", and also something only casters can do, generallyĪbout those cheesy splat buffs. If you got caught without preparation, you didn't get much out of them (unless you used Haste, some things never change), but with prep, you got a huge boost. The thing I really didn't like about 3.x buffing was how it could make you powerful for a relatively brief period. There weren't bonus types then, so stacking was confusing, and I think that's one reason we didn't see them. The only buff spell I recall seeing in 2e was Haste. In fact I only learned it's rules after 4e came out, and was delighted that it worked on creatures when you didn't know their Strength score (so NPCs could use it too). The Strength spell puts 3.5's Bull's Strength to shame, and yet I had literally never seen it used. I call these "active buffs" because you have to earn them (usually by hitting someone), and there's almost no standard action buffs.įunny thing was, many of 2e's buffs were as powerful. I much prefer 4e's short-term, generally non-stacking buffs. Hopefully, the affection Pathfinder gets from the devs restores some of his former glory.I don't like 3.x buffs either. They have assured fans that they will look into his case in the future to make the robot unique again. The devs are aware that a shared passive ability among the recon legends, doesn’t make Pathfinder standout anymore. However, one has to wait and watch what they will be. And it looks like their favorite robot will receive it soon.Īfter SoaR Daltoosh pointed out that the player had brought up some valid points, Josh Medina confirmed that Pathfinder will “get some love soon.”Ĭhanges for Pathfinder seem imminent in the coming weeks.

Players have been waiting for improvements in Pathfinder. While the 15-second cooldown might have seemed too quick, the 35-second wait for the grapple does feel a little too long. The grapple remains a convenient tool undoubtedly, but the nerf significantly brought down his mobility. Other than that, in Season 5, Pathfinder’s grapple received a significant nerf that increased its hook’s cooldown from 15 seconds to 35 seconds. Pathfinder’s going to get some love soon Therefore, retracting Pathfinder’s low-profile perk is plausible, as the extra damage with low-profile seems unnecessary. Although Pathfinder’s slender build makes it a bit tricky to register hits, he still has a significantly larger hit-box than smaller characters like Wraith. Just like the rest of the community, the Respawn team member found it amusing.Įven though the intention was to pull off a troll, the player did raise some valid points. The post gained a lot of traction, with a Respawn producer on Apex Legends, Josh Medina, also taking notice. To combat this, we have decided to take low profile off, reduce grapple cool down to 25 seconds (from 35 seconds). SelfMadeJimar tweeted, “ Hi We have been listening to your feedback, and have realized we have hurt Pathfinder a little more than intended. Recently, an Apex player went trolling on Twitter, and put himself in the shoes of an Apex dev and tweeted about an incoming buff for Pathfinder.

Good news awaits Pathfinder mains who, despite being hopeful, missed out on a decent buff in Season 6. However, it isn’t that bad, considering the robot is about to receive his fair share of affection from the devs. Pathfinder used to be Apex’s poster boy, but he is not as unique anymore. Although Pathfinder’s ultimate cooldown sightly reduces every time he scans a survey beacon, Bloodhound and Crypto have the edge on the robot. All of them can now reveal the ring’s next location, playing an essential role in map rotations.Īdditionally, Bloodhound’s ultimate received a significant buff, and Crypto’s drone can now interact with beacons instantly. The devs handed out improvements to the Recon Class, due to which Bloodhound and Crypto share the same ability with Pathfinder now. Apart from adding exciting features, the new season brought several refreshing changes.
